Hewitson Earns Hong Kong Call-Up!

Pride of SA off to the East

SA Champion jockey Lyle Hewitson will join colleagues Aldo Domeyer and Grant van Niekerk for the new Hong Kong racing season.

In a massive vote of confidence for the  PE-born Hewitson, he was allocated a six month contract by the Hong Kong Jockey Club licensing committee this week.

The Avontuur-sponsored jockey only turns 22 on 30 October!

Domeyer (6 months) and Van Niekerk (12 months) will both be delighted that they have had renewals.

Van Niekerk has been there since September last year, while Domeyer, who rode a feature race winner at Happy Valley on Wednesday, only arrived at end April and has quickly established himself as a competitor.
