Hollywoodbets Workriders Series Third Leg Today

First off at 12h25

The new week starts off with a nine-race programme at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this afternoon.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h25.

The third leg of the 2023/24 Hollywoodbets Workriders Series will be run as the opening race on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth programme today.

The talented James Maree graduate Siphiwo Feni was the winner of the inaugural series, and he takes the mount on the fancied Justin Snaith trained Three Coins who has shown improvement in each of her outings to date.

She was slow into stride over 1000m last time and stayed on to finish fourth. This is her peak run and she could go all the way.

Hollywoodbets Jackson Masengesho enjoys a moment with Bazile Nkunzi who rides Black Hole Sun today (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

Interestingly, neither of the first two leg winners – William Bambiso and Mzolisi Njengele – are riding today, so that makes things interesting, with everything to play for going into the final leg on Saturday 17 February, and a slice of the R25 000 prize money on offer.

Ticking Bomb from the Glen Kotzen stable takes her place in Race 5.

She ran a good race when second in her last start over 1600m on this course. She raced from a handy position, moved up well but was caught late by Flamboyant Flyer.

The daughter of Lancaster Bomber tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be hard to beat.

Trainer Greg Ennion sends out Exceeder in Race 8. He is better than his last two starts against stronger company.

He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this course and distance.

The 6yo gelding drops in the ratings and in class. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Please note that Grant van Niekerk is not riding today.
