Hollywoodbets Spring Country Series Launches Today

First is off at 12h10

After two days of no local racing, Hollywoodbets Durbanville races alongside Hollywoodbets Greyville this afternoon.

Ten races are carded at the Country Course with the first due off at 12h10.

The meeting is the opener of the 2023 Hollywoodbets Spring Country Series.

Trainer Justin Snaith saddles Yamadori in Race 9.

He followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this course and distance.

Despite racing wide around the turn, the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Lancaster Bomber takes a drop-in class and from pole position, he should be the one to beat.

Pineapple Express from the Vaughan Marshall stable takes his place in Race 6. He was his own worst enemy over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time as he over raced in the early stages.

He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. The 5yo gelding won his only attempt over this course and distance.

Bernard Fayd’Herbe is booked to ride and if switching off early, he can return to winning ways.
