Sizzler Set To Go Down To Wire

Kennedy & Marcus fight it out

Just seven points separate Warren Kennedy and Anton Marcus at the top of the Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge and with eleven rides between them, the two top riders are worth including in all bets at today’s Hollywoodbets Scottsville meeting – a track regular SP poster Cecil Pienaar labels ‘the best in Africa’.

With temperatures expected to reach 36 degrees at the scenic track as the first of eight races jumps at 12h35, ‘sizzle’ is the appropriate word for the hotly contested competion that has just four meetings left after today’s clash.

Kennedy looks to have the advantage today in numbers with seven rides – including likely winners Wave and Algarve – versus Marcus’ four – including feature hopeful, Seattle Force.

On the trainer platform, Garth Puller, who has enjoyed the best season of his training career to date, holds a lead of 80,5 points over Paul Lafferty. Both have had 13 winners and have dominated matters so far.

Lafferty could hold the edge today – he saddles nine runners versus Puller’s pair.
