Hollywoodbets Scottsville Sunday – Stakeholders Join Hands

It's all systems go!

Gold Circle and trainers and their staff are working hand-in-hand to ensure that blasting and the relocation of Eskom lines between 09h00 and 11h00 on the N3 from Peacevale to Hammarsdale on Sunday 9 March will have a nominal impact, if any at all, on the Hollywoodbets Scottsville racemeeting on the day.

The nine-race Capital City card commences at 12h05.

Given the reality that there are no local racemeetings rostered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, coupled with the current impact of heavy rainfall on recent KZN racemeetings, the inconvenience of shifting regular horse transport times seems a minor price to pay for ensuring that the meeting goes ahead.

“We are pleased that stakeholders are working together as we are expecting further inclement weather from Monday and this may well be our last racing opportunity for another week,” Gold Circle Racing Executive Raf Sheik told the Sporting Post.

According to reports, blasting will be completed at 11h00.

“Floats for the later races will be released only once we have confirmed that the road congestion has cleared up. The runners on the 11h30 float are only scheduled to run at 15h00, so we have some leeway for delays. We have been in constant communication with the SANRAL and they have assured us that the works will be completed within the timeframe, bearing in mind the N3 is a major transport route,” added Sheik.
