With the news of the launch of the Mike and Mathew de Kock training partnership on Friday, Hollywoodbets have refunded all bets struck on Mike de Kock to win the SA Champion Trainer title, without deductions to other players.

The De Kock father-son partnership celebrate their first runner at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday evening and, just as they did in the instance of the Brett & James Crawford, partnership launch earlier this month, Hollywoodbets have made the call to institute a refund.

Hollywoodbets’ Patrick Bradley told the Sporting Post on Thursday that the De Kock refund was a goodwill gesture as the National Horseracing Authority were maintaining independent statistics on earnings for Mike de Kock and the De Kock partnership.

“They are two separate entities in terms of statistics so we felt it only fair and sporting to refund bets struck on Mike de Kock and without deductions to other players,” said Bradley.

With just six months left of the current season, reigning SA champion trainer Justin Snaith looks well set to add to his haul of 5 national titles, after a massive six winner haul on WSB Cape Town Met day last Saturday.

Snaith is a runaway leader on R16,4 million, almost R10 million ahead of Milnerton colleague Vaughan Marshall, who has already declared that he will not be raiding the KZN Champions Season. Gqeberha-based Alan Greeff is in third on R6,4 million.

Hollywoodbets have priced Justin Snaith up at 1-6 to win the title.
