Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Abandoned After Fifth

Next racemeeting in Cape on 14 June

The Hollywoodbets Kenilworth racemeeting on Sunday was abandoned due to deteriorating underfoot conditions after the fifth race.

That means that a Bipot, PA and Pick 6 dividend was declared. Jackpots are subject to a refund.

With visibility also becoming an issue as the rain fell steadily, a meeting that already looked in doubt on Saturday finally succumbed to the elements.

The two feature races will be run at a date to be advised. The next Western Cape racemeeting is on 14 June.

After saddling Top Quality to win the fourth race, trainer Justin Snaith took his hat off to all participants and said he was thankful that Cape Town had no polytrack.

“They were installed for various reasons, including poor track management. Rain is supposed to fall here in the Cape in winter and we don’t need a polytrack,” concluded Snaith.
