TGIF…And Plenty Of Racing!

Wangaratta starts us off at 03h55

It’s another busy day on the Hollywoodbets international racing menu with 22 venues offered from across the world.

Wangaratta Racecourse gets things up and running at 03h55.

Racing began in 1845 at North Wangaratta and ten years later the club moved to its present site.

Wangaratta is situated approximately 235 km’s from Melbourne.

The racecourse was designed on similar lines to Flemington.

Wangaratta has a track circumference of 1730 m and a home straight of 300 m.

The width of the track is 20 m and the track is grassed with kikuya on a sandy loam soil heavily oversown with rye grass.

The drainage system has been upgraded in recent years with automatic watering. The track is undulating with a drop of 14-feet from the 1000 m to the 600 m then rises 3 m to the winning post.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
