With Monday horseracing in South Africa now consigned to the scrapheap of history, a final opportunity to have a Monday flutter has fallen by the wayside.

This with the news that Saturday’s Hollywoodbets Durbanville postponed meeting will not go ahead tomorrow as planned.

Cape Racing have advised that following the postponed meeting of Saturday 29 July, further rainfall has been experienced in the region.

Parts of the track are still waterlogged,  particularly around the 1000m mark and further rain is forecast for tonight.

Therefore, in the interests of the safety of horses and riders, the racemeeting postponed to Monday 31 July at Hollywoodbets Durbanville is unfortunately abandoned.

That means that today’s World Pool Gold Cup racemeeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville was the curtain call on the 2022/23 season.
