Hollywoodbets Durban July – Who Will Put Hand Up?

Eleven Hollywoodbets Durban July hopefuls line up in the World Sports Betting 1900 on Saturday.

Pacaya, Quasiforsure and Rascallion top the boards, but can the progressive Cape Eagle or the best handicapped horse in the race, Winchester Mansion, cause the upset?

Watch the preview show here:

Some of the trainer comments:

  1. Pacaya: “He’s in good form. His work has been of a good standard. He’s quite well weighted in this race”, Justin Snaith.
  2. Quasiforsure: “Since he’s come back to Durban, he’s thrived”, Peter Muscutt.
  3. Rascallion: “He will need the run. If he wins with the amount of work he’s done, then I’ll be ecstatic. It’ll be a good prep run for him (his mission is the HDJ). As Naas Botha used to say, the Currie Cup is not won in May, so let’s see how we go!” Vaughan Marshall.
  4. Cape Eagle: “He’s going to come in with bottom weight. He likes going forward, so the draw I don’t think is going to matter too much”, Byron Foster.
  5. One Way Traffic: “I do think he’s back to good form. From the bad draw, he’ll have to give a lot of start, but wouldn’t be surprised to see him do some low end flying”, Justin Snaith.
  6. Aragosta: It is his 2nd run back having finished 3rd to Puerto Manzano in the Betway Summer Cup. Needed the run. Drawn 5 with Craig Zackey up.
  7. Winchester Mansion: “He’s been improving by the week. From draw 2 with 52 on his back, he has to be a respected runner on the day”, James Crawford.
  8. Flying Bull: “He’s had a great prep. He’s drawn wide, but I don’t think its going to worry him as he likes to gallop”, Glen Kotzen.
  9. Electric Gold: “I haven’t had him all that long, but I think he’s made the right progress to run in a race like this”, Tony Peter.
  10. Litigation: “I was disappointed with his last showing in the group 1, however, it was a very slow run race. He’s come out of the race very well and feel he has some sort of a chance here”, Sean Tarry.
  11. Indlamu: “He is a game soldier and never disgraces himself. I’m just interested to see how he goes over the distance in this type of company”, Sean Tarry.
  12. Raiseahallelujah: “He was obviously needing his last run, which we just used as a prep gallop for this. Out of stallgate 1 off 52 kilos, we are hoping to be competitive”, Candice Dawson.
