Hollywoodbets Durban July Make Or Break!

'Rockpool an exciting horse' - Justin Snaith

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins Gr2 Cup Trial is a make-or-break opportunity for eight Hollywoodbets Durban July hopefuls on Saturday.

Michele Wing and her Racing News team compiled this preview:

Rockpool: “He’s a very exciting horse for me. I haven’t seen a horse move like this in a long time. He’s certainly a big one for the stable in the future if he can show that he handles the track (Hollywoodbets Greyville)”, Justin Snaith.

Shoemaker: “I believe that if he runs well on Saturday, he deserves a place (in the HDJ), the fact that he now that he has the weight advantage to turn it on the horses that have beaten him”, Mike de Kock.

Union Square: “This is more his ground, 18 plus. He’s fit, he should be right there, he’s well”, Mike de Kock.

Winchester Mansion: “From draw 5 with 55.5 kilos on his back, I think he’s definitely going to be a big runner on the day. It’s a make-or-break race for him, as to whether he’s going to get into the July”, James Crawford.

Cape Eagle: “We know now that he can stand up to a decent field (based on his last run). I don’t think he’ll disgrace himself again”, Byron Foster.

Quasiforsure: “I’ve reverted back to the tongue tie for Saturday. He does appear to settle better with it on. He’s drawn better this time. He’s in a great space”, Peter Muscutt.

Litigation: “He has a decent draw and Gavin knows him well. I’m expecting him to be competitive”, Sean Tarry.

Flying Bull: “His prep going forward from there (he was carded, then scratched earlier in the season) has been flawless. This is our last chance to have a crack at the July”, Glen Kotzen.

Lord William: “He’s really flourished here in Durban, so I’m really excited about him. He’s stepping up in class and has a nice galloping weight”, Glen Kotzen.

Silvano’s Timer: “At his very best, he’s a horse that could be in the shakeup”, Dean Kannemeyer.

Global Impact: On a merit rating of 88, he has a lot to find. As a natural frontrunner, he is most likely to make the pace, Racing News.
