Looks like Barty Leisher, not sure when though
Ahhhh, my favourite July winner – Occult with Bartie Leisher up ! I had just finished my national service and had bills to pay ! I was the accountant at Cape Town’s biggest watering hole – The Pig n Whiste working for Bertie Chiat. I convinced almost every single customer to leave Fools Holme alone and go for Occult. Cheers to Bartie.
I remember afterwards the jocks were saying that Felix Coetzee was shouting at them early in the race … Go Go faster for Fools Holme and Bartie Leisher commenting ” So I went faster and faster !
and they couldn’t catch me.
He dedicated this win to his Mom on TV !

Occult and Bartie boy, he was the underdog in the race but even after Felix on the favourite FoolsHolme…………..couldnt beat him, what a magnificent ride
