Here’s A Good Thing

Doncaster first race is off at 13h50

Threeunderthrufive looks the proverbial good thing in the Gr2 bet365 December Novices’ Chase at Doncaster today.

The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding is a stout stayer, as proved by his latest victory at Cheltenham, when grinding it out from the front and reversing previous form with the well regarded Does He Know.

Faced with just two rivals, Threeunderthrufive has an excellent opportunity to add to his tally at Town Moor at 14h55.

The other Gr2 on the card is the bet365 Summit Juvenile Hurdle (16h40), a competitive eight runner event for three-year-olds.

The unbeaten Porticello from the Gary Moore yard opened up favourite on the back of an impressive win at Weatherby in October on soft ground. That was his seasonal debut and first start in the UK after previously racing in France. The well-bred son of Sholokhov had one start in France at Auteuil where he accounted for the reapposing Magistrato in easy fashion.

Too Friendly from the in-form Dan Skelton stable and Knight Salute ridden by Paddy Brennan for Milton Harris are unexposed and must be considered.
