Betting and Racecourse Licence Issued

New Tote and Racecourse Operator Licence issued

Varied Code. Harness Racing receives a boost

The efforts over the past number of years to introduce Harness Racing to South Africa have resulted in the issue of a Totalisator Operator’s License and racecourse Operator’s License to Trotco (Pty) Ltd.

These licenses were issued on 21st December 2012 by the KwaZulu-Natal gaming and Betting Board, in terms of the new legislation as contained in the KwaZulu-Natal Gaming and Betting Act, 2010.

Trotco (Pty) Ltd is consequently entitled to offer pooled betting on any horse-race, sporting event or other contingency.

Issue of these licenses have increased the potential for development of the existing embryonic rural racing code.
