Gumede Gets Time For Samuel Accident

Suspended for eighteen days

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 10 December 2015, Apprentice Jockey N Gumede was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of MUSIC WORLD, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FLY AWAY WITH ME (J Samuel) when shifting outwards shortly before the finish in Race 4 at Greyville Racecourse on the 04 December 2015.

Apprentice Jockey Gumede pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence, found Mr Gumede guilty and suspended Mr Gumede from riding in races for a period of eighteen days.

Mr Gumede has the right of appeal against the severity of the penalty imposed.
