TAB – No Error At Gulfstream

What happened to third horse?

Gulfstream Park’s official website confirms that Sunday evening’s fourth race quartet at  the venue was correctly posted by TAB.

But the query has probably highlighted the lack of local punter information.

The Sporting Post queried the result with TAB after punters contacted us.

The reputable Skysports still shows the TAB fourth-placed Fast Venezuela(1) to have been disqualified.

We have been unable to locate any Stipes Report, although there was a revision in the placings, with the fancied Fast Venezuela having run third.

While there was interference at the top of the straight, punters who got knocked out of the PA are still in the dark. This case clearly highlights a need for improving communication from overseas tracks.

A spokesman for TAB told us that the results – the  first 5 payouts – for the USA are received directly from the host tote.

“Our auditors double-checked the result with the host last night after your query and it was confirmed as given ie, 6-4-5-1-3, with no disqualifications. We also double checked last night and three different sites, including Gulfstream Park itself, all gave the Superfecta (their Quartet) result for Gulfstream Park Race 4 as 6-4-5-1. We have sent two of them viz Horse Racing Nation and Gulfstream Park to you as there still seem to be doubts. On the evidence, we are satisfied that the TAB result is correct.”
