De Kock Adds Another String To Dubai Bow

Will race for Gulf Racing Club

Albion Square,  a two-year-old colt by Acclamation, will be joining Mike de Kock’s Dubai stables early in December.

Albion Square has won a race and was only 3.5 lengths back in the Gr3 Cornwallis Stakes (8 October) in his last start behind this weekend’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint prospect, Twilight Jet.

He is rated 98 and cracks an invite to the Dubai Carnival.

He was purchased for £62 500 by Vermaak Equine at theTattersalls Horses In Training Sale recently, where John Nel did the bidding for the Vermaak Equine Team, and will race for Justin Vermaak’s Gulf Racing Club,

Vermaak commented: “Albion Square is in the care of Jane Chapple-Hyam at Newmarket, and in full training. He is scheduled to leave the UK for Dubai on 3 December, and his first likely target is the Dubai Trophy Turf Sprint over 1200m on 20 January, so he’ll have about six weeks with the De Kock yard before the race. There aren’t many three-year-old turf sprinters in Dubai.” (He will turn 3 years old on 1 January).

Vermaak said that shares were available, more than half have been sold, but you can get your share by mailing him on [email protected] for more info.
