De Kock’s Dingaans Dynamite

Two interesting fillies in the entry list

Mike de Kock has entered four runners in the Gr2 World Sports Betting Dingaans to be run over 1600m at Turffontein on WSB Gauteng Summer Cup Saturday 28 November, and they look likely to dominate the race should they accept.

De Kock has nominated unbeaten Malmoos and Mount Pleasant, as well as Al Muthana, who needed his last run, and Al Qaqaa.

To make matters even worse for their opposition, they have landed draws No 2, 3, 7 and 8 respectively.

Paul Peter has nominated his highly rated MK’s Pride, but he will have a lot to do from draw No 15.

But, lurking lower in the weights, is unbeaten three-year-old filly Anything Goes, who is nicely drawn at No 4.

However, the Stuart Pettigrew-trained  daughter of Var has also been nominated for the Gr2 Ipi Tombe Challenge for fillies and mares, also over 1600m, where she has been allocated just 53kg and has drawn well enough at No 6.

Another filly with a dual entry is Candice Dawson-trained Sentbydestiny, who we have not seen in action since she beat the colts in the Gr1 Premiers Champion Stakes over 1600m at Greyville in August.

De Kock has nominated Queen Supreme, who has also been entered to run in the World Sports Betting Gauteng Summer Cup on the same day, for the Ipi Tombe Challenge where she has drawn well at No 2 and is probably better suited to 1600m than 2000m.

War Of Athena has also been nominated and she is set to carry just 51kg if Paul Matchett chooses to run her.

Also to be run on the day are the Grade 3 New Turf Carrier Merchants over 1160m, the Grade 3 World Sports Betting Magnolia Handicap over 1160m and the Listed World Sports Betting Racing association Handicap over 3200m.

Supplementary entries close at 09h00 on Monday.

Declarations are due by 11h00 on Wednesday, 18 November.
