Yogas Govender's Razzle Dazzle Rose blooms in the R300 000 Gr2 Gold Bracelet

Bloomin’ Good! Razzle Dazzle Rose forges ahead under Sean Cormack

Trainer Yogas Govender put a long cold lonely winter behind him when his Jet Master filly Razzle Dazzle Rose won the R300 000 Gr2 Gold Bracelet run over 2000m at Greyville on Saturday. Sean Cormack rode a cracker on the winner, to register a personal Group race double.

Having a jockey aboard of the calibre of Cormack makes any trainer’s job that much easier. The man who turns 43 on 17 September jumped off Jackson after his scintillating Gr1 Champions Cup win a half hour earlier, to ride a clever race on the Jet Master 4yo.

Cormack had to call on far greater reserves of skill and guile than he had utilised on Jackson, as he outmanoeuvred the gallant Doowaley mare Louvre, who did everything,  but win.

Govender came off the high of a stunning 2013 Gr1 J&B Met victory with his shock Silvano winner Martial Eagle, and hasn’t had an easy passage at stakes level, despite churning out the lower rung winners.

He also trained the winner of the second race earlier on the big afternoon in the Jet Master gelding, Lake Arthur.

Louvre led for much of the journey and Alec Forbes appeared to have pulled the rabbit out of the hat, until his dreams were shattered when cut down late by an enthusiastic  Razzle Dazzle Rose.

Razzle Dazzle Rose won by a half length  in a time of 121.39seconds.

Louvre ran an honest race as usual and a great second at her first try beyond a mile after doing all the donkey work.

The 14 to 10 favourite Jet Belle never sparked and ran second last, while Gr1 winner Thunder Dance barely raised a decent gallop to finish just ahead of her.

Razzle Dazzle Rose is a Plattner home-bred, by Jet Master out of the Australian-bred  Last Tycoon mare Sydney Rose,  who carried the Sabine Plattner green, indigo and gold silks with distinction in her five wins.

Razzle Dazzle Rose recorded a second stakes win after the 2012 Gr3 Victress Stakes and has a record of 6 wins and 2 places from her 17 starts.

She has earned a total of R493 798.
