Dingaans Back On Summer Cup Day

Quality undercard for 30 November

The ever dynamic cycle of change in racing is in evidence with the Gr2 Dingaans having been moved back to a Summer Cup day slot after its shift to a week earlier last year.

The 3yo classic pointer, run for R500 000 and still at that level despite recent stakes cuts, was moved in tandem with the Cape Guineas – the latter race suggested as being run too close to Christmas Day.

Last year the Cape colt’s Guineas was run on the same mid December slot as the fairer sex contest. This year it has separated again from the girls’contest and moved back to four days prior to Christmas.

This will give the Dingaans hopefuls a chance of going for glory – travel restrictions aside – in the Cape.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
