The R2-million Gr1 Sansui Summer Cup, hosted by Gauteng, will be run over 2000m at Turffontein on Saturday 30 November.

Joe Soma sends out last year’s winner Wagner, while Sean Tarry’s powerful trio includes the recent Gr2 Victory Moon Stakes victor, Tiger’s Retreat. The son of Tiger Ridge is one of three runners from the Sean Tarry yard who, will line up in the Grade 1 race. The others are Whiteline Fever, to be ridden by Piere Strydom, and Gold Onyx, whose jockey has yet to be announced.

Raymond Danielson has retained the ride on Tiger’s Retreat and they will jump from barrier No 10. Geoff Woodruff saddles four runners, while the surprise winner of the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile, Royal Zulu Warrior, will be trying 2000m for the first time and supporters of the Australian import will be delighted to know that he has drawn at 4.
