Chocolicious

Chocolicious wins the Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship

Chocolicious, the lightly raced Gr.1 Allan Robertson Championship winner, has been sold on behalf of the owners, by master trainer Herman Brown jnr to Darren and Elizabeth Dance, to race with a group of their clients from Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock.

Based in Victoria, they manage and operate Manningtree Park, where they are one of Australia’s leading owners and syndicators of successful Gr.1 winning racing stock.

A feature of their operation, is the opportunity for their clients to race horses in Grade races in Australia and world wide, and a decision last year to invest in international stayers to tackle the major distance races, resulted in Crackerjack King winning the Gr.1 Rome Premio Presidente della Repubblica and having three runners in the 2012 Melbourne Cup at Flemington, with Jakkal-berry running a wonderful 3rd placing behind the Irish bred Green Moon.

Chocolicious was bred in Kwazulu-Natal, at the picturesque Backworth Stud, of former Zimbabweans and highly astute breeders, Keith Russon and Ian Todd. With 5 wins & 8 placing’s from only 16 starts, including multiple stakes performances in South Africa and Dubai, she will resume her racing career shortly in South Africa before heading to the UK early 2013.

Chocolicious’ Sire Kahal, a dual Gr.2 winner of 7 races, has produced 26 Stakes winners, including 5 individual Gr.1 winners and stands at Warwick and Karin Render’s Bush Hill Stud for R40, 000. Gary Moore from Gavelhouse brokered the private sale. www.gavelhouse.com.
