The National Horseracing Authority confirms that Gold Circle Racing and Gaming, represented by Mr G T Hawkins appeared before an Inquiry Board on 5 November 2015 and was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that as a result of an amendment to the programme for Event 2 at Greyville Racecourse on 23 October 2015 (Race 5 – Drakenstein Stud FM 84 Handicap (F & M), Gold Circle caused the horses in this race not to run in the registered colours of their Owners.
Mr Hawkins, on behalf of Gold Circle Racing & Gaming, pleaded guilty to the charge and Gold Circle Racing & Gaming was found guilty of the charge.
The Board, after considering a number of points in mitigation, imposed the penalty of a warning.
Gold Circle has the right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
