Global Drummer Set For 15!

Two features at Fairview today

Racing in the Windy City takes place on the turf track at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon. There are two feature races on the day including the Listed East Cape Guineas and the Listed East Cape Sprint.

The first is due off at 12h35.

Global Drummer from the Gavin Smith stable takes his place in the Listed East Cape Sprint. He has shown true guts and determination to win his last three starts. He set the pace over 1400m last time and fought hard to keep all challengers at bay.

He has won five times and finished second once from seven attempts over this distance. He is no stranger to carrying top weight and with JP van der Merwe in the saddle, he should notch up his 15th career victory.

Trainer Alan Greeff saddles Afternoon Tea in Race 4 and she represents decent each way value. She finished 1.85 lengths behind Afternoon Tea last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today.

The 5yo mare was reported to be coughing and not striding out that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She is having her peak run and with 55.5kgs on her back, she may be the one to cause the upset.

Apprentice Kaidan Brewer has ridden 40 winners and now claims 1,5kgs.
