First due off @ 12h05

Punters can look forward to an exciting day of food, fun and racing excellence at the annual SplashOut Seafood & Jazz Racing Festival.

Today’s Festival at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth brings the curtain down on the successful Cape Racing Summer Season and proudly emphasises the evolution of Cape horseracing.

The main event of the day is the SplashOut Gr1 Cape Derby. There is a R500 000 Pick 6 carryover with a likely pool of R3 million.

Don’t forget about the special bumper free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h05.

Green With Envy from the Dean Kannemeyer stable takes his place in the SplashOut Gr1 Cape Derby.

He ran on from last when winning the Schweppes Gr3 Politician Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight will be at home over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and is the horse to beat.

Trainer Justin Snaith sends out Double Grand Slam in Race 6. She finished 0.05 lengths behind Rascova last time.

She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Vercingetorix is likely to be settled near the rear and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.
