Paris Lass under Calvin Habib wins the Milkwood Stakes

Paris Lass (Calvin Habib) showed good speed when holding off Three Rocks (Richard Fourie) and Gimme’s Lassie (Craig Zackey) at Fairview on 24 May (Pic – Pauline Herman)

Paris Lass from the Gavin Smith stable takes her place in Race 7. She is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was in the Listed Milkwood Stakes.

She showed good speed that day and found more where it matters most.

She does get the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili which will assist her cause.

She is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

Trainer Gavin Smith sends out Dawn Of Gold in the lucky last. She finished 0.55 lengths behind Colorama last time.

She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. S

he has won once and finished second twice from five starts on this course.

4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili retains the ride and from her handy draw of five, she should be competitive.
