First due off @ 12h50

The 2024/2025 4Racing season kicks off on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon.

Eight races are on the cards with the first due off at 12h50 and the lucky last scheduled for 16h55.

Olivia’s Way from the Roy Magner stable takes her place in Race 6. She followed up her maiden win with an encouraging fourth-place finish over 1400m.

She raced wide around the turn that day and understandably lacked a finish.

The daughter of Pathfork will love the rise to 1800m. She jumps from pole position and with Gavin Lerena (who closed off the KZN 2023/2024 on an impressive note on Sunday) in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.

Trainer Roy Magner sends out Kotinos in the lucky last. He has found a form return in his last two starts.

He was running on when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He has won twice from three starts over this course and distance.

Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 2.5kgs off his back and he can notch up his fourth-career victory.
