Gavin Looks To Zeus For A Winning Return

First due off @ 12h20

Today’s local double-header kicks off at Turffontein with the first on the eight-race programme due off at 12h20 and the lucky last set for 16h30.

A reminder to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge on both the local racemeetings today.

Zeus from the Fabian Habib stable takes his place in Race 5. He was not disgraced in the Betway Gr1 Summer Cup last time.

He has won three times and finished third twice from six starts over this course and distance.

It is encouraging that Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and the combination can return to winning ways.

Trainer Jaap Visser sends out The Navy Lark in the lucky last and she may be the horse to close off the meeting.

She stayed on when fourth over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course last time. She finished 2.45 lengths behind Warm Winter Nite, three runs ago.

The daughter of Captain Of All is 7kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She can return to winning ways.
