TAB logoTAB’s Turffontein Pick 6 kicked off with a R1-million carryover and the total net pool exceeded expectations, soaring well past the R4-million mark.

TAB betting turnover from all sources on the Gauteng Guineas race meeting at Turffontein rocketed 33% above the 2015 figure and TAB’s total betting turnover for all race meetings on the day was 15.5% higher than the previous year.

And the day was not only a betting success.

The combination of high-quality racing, big TAB pools, a prawn festival and a losing TAB ticket competition at Turffontein proved a smash hit. Racegoers came in their thousands andattendance on the day compared favourably with mega racing events at the track.
