Ancient Times Could Be Best Today

The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h05

The feature race on the programme is the Non-Black Type Aloe Handicap for three-year old fillies.

The first race is off at 12h35.

Jimmy The Rich writes Ancient Times from the Gavin Smith stable is the best bet on the card. His last three starts have been good.

He was slow into stride last time, but raced from a handy position and stayed on well. The son of Querari does not meet the strongest field and should shed his maiden tag.

The value bet comes in the last race in the form of Precious Stone who is making his stable debut for the Jacques Strydom yard.

His last two starts against stronger in Gauteng have been decent. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked.

The son of Seventh Rock takes a drop in class and if suited to the polytrack, he can get back to winning ways.

The false rail is 3m out at the 421m mark.
