A Bit Of Quick Wit At Fairview Today

The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 13h55

Nine races take place in the Windy City at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon.

After missing out on two winners at the Vaal yesterday, Warren Kennedy has a full book of rides and should be the jockey worth following.

The first race is due off at 11h45.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Gavin Smith saddles Cairon in Race 5 and he is the best bet on the card. He has won his last two starts well on this course.

The manner in which he drew away from the opposition last time was impressive.

It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The 5yo gelding is in a good space and should notch up the hat-trick.

Quick Wit from the Duncan McKenzie stable takes her place in Race 8 and she represents decent each way value. She has shown some improvement in her last two starts with the blinkers fitted.

She finished 2.1 lengths behind Vic Falls in her penultimate effort.

She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will enjoy the return to the turf and she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Mpume Mjoka will not be riding today due to family responsibilities.

The false rail is 7m of zero to the 1200m mark. Increasing to 15m to the 800m mark and decreasing to 12m to the 400m mark with a 5m spur to 7m.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h15
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 12h45
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h15
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 13h55
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 14h35

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
