Early Start At Fairview Today

The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h15

Racing is back on the turf track at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon and ten races are carded.

The main event of the day is Race 7 which is the Friendly City Stakes.

It is an early start to racing with the first due off at 11h45.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Alan Greeff saddles Castello Campanula in Race 1 and she is the best bet on the card.

She produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the polytrack, six weeks ago.

She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging.

The daughter of Flower Alley would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Sacred Ibis from the Gavin Smith stable takes her place in Race 5. She finished 2.25 lengths behind Cana last time.

She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

She is back against her own sex this afternoon and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

K Minnie, S Naidoo, C Maujean, M Mjoka and D Bogaleboile will not be riding today with the stipes permission.

The false rail is at 5m of zero to the 1200m, increasing to 11m to the 800m mark and decreasing to 9m with a 2,5m spur to 7m.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h15
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 12h45
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h15
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 13h45
  • The second Jackpot starts in the seventh race at 14h50

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
