Snaith In The Windy City

Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h30

Racing takes place in the Windy City at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon.

The combination of Justin Snaith and Francois Herholdt team up in every race today and a great day is expected for the two.

The first race is due off at 11h55.

Somerset Maugham takes his place in Race 6 and is the possible banker on the card. He was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 WSB Pocket Power Stakes.

The drop in trip should not pose a concern as he has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance.

He is the best weighted runner in this contest and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

What A Winner from the Juan Nel yard represents some decent each way value in Race 7. He has decent recent form lines to his credit.

It must be noted that the horse that finished fifth in his last start has come out and won since.

All seven of his career victories have come over this distance. If keeping on a straight line, he should be the one to beat.

Bryan Claassen will not be riding today as he is medically indisposed.

The false rail is at 3m of zero to the 900m, increasing to 8,5m to the 800m mark and decreasing to 7m with a 1,5m spur.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h25
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 12h55
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h30
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h10
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 14h45

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
