Derby Day At Fairview

The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h35

There are nine races scheduled for Fairview on the turf track this afternoon.

The main event on the day is the Listed WSB East Cape Derby.

The first race is due off at 12h05.

Alan Greeff sends out Sweet The Sound in Race 3. She produced an eye-catching debut effort over this course and distance, six weeks ago.

She moved up well and fought hard all the way to the line.

The daughter of Rafeef would have come on with the run under her belt and should improve to go one better here.

Encryption from the Sharon Kotzen stable takes her place in the lucky last. She has shown good improvement since relocating to the Eastern Cape.

She was reported to be cut into and making an abnormal respiratory noise last time.

She finished second in her only attempt on this course. It is encouraging that Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle and she may be the one to beat.

The false rail is 1m of zero to the 1200m mark, increasing to 6m to the 800m mark with a 6m spur.
