Chase The Value

The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h35

Fairview Racecourse plays host to an eight-race programme on the turf this afternoon.

The main event on the day is the Listed East Cape Nursery which is Race 7 on the card.

The first race is due off at 12h30.

Chase Maujean rides Torio Lake from the Duncan McKenzie yard in Race 8 today.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Gavin Smith sends out Global Drummer in Race 6 and he is the possible Pick 6 banker.

He has top consistent form lines to his credit. He set the pace last time and despite casting a shoe in running, he won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this course and distance. The son of Global View is classy and should take a power of beating.

Torio Lake from the Duncan McKenzie stable represents decent each way value in the lucky last. He was doing his best work late in the first leg of the WSB East Cape Poly Challenge last time.

He finished 3 lengths behind Evies First in his penultimate start.

He is 3kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. Chase Maujean does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

The false rail is 1m of zero to the 1200m mark, increasing to 6m to the 800m mark with a 6m spur.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h00
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h35
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h10
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h45

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
