Feature Friday At Fairview

The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h05

Nine races are scheduled to take place at Fairview this afternoon.

There are three feature races including the Listed East Cape Oaks, Listed Glenlair Trophy and the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

The first race is due off at 12h00.

Please note that today’s racemeeting has been moved to the Polytrack and the Glenlair Trophy is to be run over 2750m.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Sailing Lizard from the in-form Gavin Smith stable could be the one to close off the meeting. He is a winner of his last three starts in Gqeberha.

He was slow into stride last time, but finished his race off strongly to notch up the victory.

He does have a wide draw to overcome, but is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

After saddling a feature race winner last week Friday, Juan Nel sends out What A Winner in the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five.

He ran a good race when finishing third in the first leg of the WSB East Cape Poly Challenge over 1200m, five weeks ago. It must be noted that the horse that finished fifth that day has come out and won since.

All six of his career wins have come over this distance. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and he may be the one to side with.

The false rail is 1m of zero to the 1200m mark, increasing to 6m to the 800m mark with a 6m spur.

  • The Bipot starts in the second race at 12h30
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third race at 13h00
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race at 13h30
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h05
  • The second Jackpot starts in the sixth race at 14h45

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
