Fortune’s Bard Can Talk Our Language Today

Try the Hollywoodbets Punters' Challenge today

A nine-race programme is set for the Turffontein Inside course this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h05 with the lucky last carded for 16h45.

The revamped  Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge launched on Wednesday at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

The revised prize payout formula means that on today’s card the estimated jackpot could be as high as R1 740 000!

That is calculated on the current 87 starters at R10 000 per starter, doubled if you wager R50 or more on your programmatically generated Bet Slip card.

There is also the daily must-be-won prize of R5000 which is shared proportionately in terms of finishing positions by the top 20 on the afternoon’s leaderboard!

Raffles from the Roy Magner stable takes his place in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the programme. The son of Time Thief stayed on at the finish over 1400m last time but found one too good in the form of Unzen.

He finished third in his only attempt over this course and distance. He is the best weighted runner in this contest and from pole position, should take a power of beating.

Trainer Ashley Fortune saddles Bard Of Avon in Race 8.

He showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m on the Standside course.

He was reported to be not striding out that day.

The form of that race has been franked. He has finished third in both his efforts on this course. The son of Var returns to Handicap Company and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Kindly note that Randall Simons is not riding today.
