Fortune Filly Can Open The Day

First race is off at 12h45

Turffontein Racecourse plays host to an eight-race programme on the Standside course this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h45 and the lucky last is set for 16h35.

Ripple Effect from the Ashley Fortune stable should give punters a good start to the day.

She was not disgraced when third in the Grade 2 WSB SA Nursery last time.

The daughter of Erupt raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. She is back against her own sex and in this field, she should take a power of beating.

Trainer Mike de Kock sends out Climate Control in Race 7 and he represents decent each way value. He stayed on when fourth over 2000m on the Inside course last time.

He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course.

The son of Ideal World takes a drop-in class and will love the rise to 2400m.

Craig Zackey takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Please note that Diego De Gouveia & Gavin Lerena are not riding today.
