First race off @ 12h40

Eight races are carded at Hollywoodbets Scottsville this afternoon.

Don’t forget about the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge with the first due off at 12h40 and the lucky last is set for 16h45.

Kindly note, that jockey Gavin Lerena will not be riding this afternoon.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Peter Muscutt saddles The Shepherd in Race 1.

He produced a promising debut in a competitive Maiden Plate over 1000m on this course.

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m.

With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat in this line-up.

Rodriguez from the Louis Goosen stable takes his place in Race 8.

He finished off his race nicely over 1600m on this course last time but was baulked in the latter stages. He finished 1.30 lengths behind Papa C that day and is 1kg better off at the weights.

There should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. He jumps from a handy draw of six and with luck in running, he can return to winning ways.
