Follow Phedra At Fairview

First race off @ 12h30

Racing at Fairview has been moved from the turf track to the polytrack this afternoon. Eight races are carded including the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes and the Listed Milkwood Stakes.

The first is due off at 12h30.

Note: Jockey Grant Van Niekerk will not be riding this afternoon.

Don’t forget to submit your entries for the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punter’s Challenge by 12h25.

Phedra from the Sharon Kotzen stable takes her place in Race 7 and she is the best bet on the programme.

She was ultra-impressive when winning the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes last time. She quickened up well, took the lead at the 250m mark and won with a ton in hand.

She has won three times and finished second once from five starts over this course and distance. The daughter of Vercingetorix is in a good space and can notch up the hat trick.

Trainer Tara Laing sends out Xplicit Content in the lucky last and he may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He followed up his maiden victory with two decent efforts. The manner in which he finished off his last start suggests that he will love the rise to 1200m.

The son of Vercingetorix will be suited to the turf track and with the services of in-form jockey Chase Maujean, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
