The first race at Hollywoodbets Greyville is off at 12h35

Racing takes place on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack this afternoon and eight races are carded. Trainer Gavin van Zyl saddles five runners with a couple of decent winning chances and he may be the trainer worth following. The first is due off at 12h35.

S’Manga Khumalo (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

Venerable from the Gavin van Zyl yard takes his place in Race 1 and he can give punters a good start to the day. He ran a good race when finishing second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time.

He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Money Heist. He was reported to be not striding out that day. The son of Silvano takes a drop in distance and will be cherry-ripe. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and he can shed his maiden tag.

Paul Lafferty saddles Global Secret in the lucky last and she represents decent each way value. She ran a decent race when fourth in her last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this distance. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
