The first race at Vaal Turf Classic is off at 12h15

Racing takes place on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon and eight races are carded.

The first is due off at 12h15 with the lucky last set for 16h15.

S’manga Khumalo rides Dyce in race 6 today (PIc – Candiese Lenferna)

Dyce from the Lucky Houdalakis yard takes his place in Race 6. He was in need of his comeback run after 66 weeks off the track.

He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. The son of William Longsword will strip a much fitter horse today. He is loaded with class and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Stuart Pettigrew saddles Imperial Master in Race 4. He finished 1.5 lengths behind Sudden Star last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He has won twice, finished second once and third four times from eight starts over this distance. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo and from pole position, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
