Eight races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon. The first is due off at 12h40 with the lucky last set for 16h35.
Atticus Finch from the Alec Laird yard takes his place in Race 2 and he is the possible PA banker. He produced a promising debut effort over 1400m at Turffontein.
He was green in running, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since.
The son of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.
Legislate’s Dance from the Paul Peter stable may be the horse to close off the meeting. He ran on powerfully when winning his stable debut over this course and distance. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory.
He would have come on from the run and from his good draw of two, he should notch up his third career victory.
