Follow Fourie At Fairview Today

The first is off at 12h25

Racing takes place on the turf track at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon and eight races are carded.

The main event of the day is Race 7 which is the Non-Black Type Friendly City Stakes over 1800m.

The first is due off at 12h25.

Richard Fourie rides Divine Design in race 1 today (Pic – Candiese Lenferna)

Divine Design from the Alan Greeff yard takes her place in Race 1 and she should give punters a good start to the day. She produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1200m on this course.

She lost a length at the start, but moved up extremely well before getting caught in the shadow of the post by Rhythm Of The Rain. The daughter of Captain Of All found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Tara Laing saddles Gold Rock in Race 5 and he represents decent each way value. He finished 2.2 lengths behind Moon Game last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts over this course and distance. The 6yo gelding jumps from a good draw of four and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
