First race is off at 12h40

Racing takes place on the polytrack at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon and eight races are carded.

S’manga Khumalo has a full book of rides with a couple of decent winning chances and he may be the jockey worth following.

The first is due off at 12h40.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Gavin Smith saddles Waz Wouter in Race 1. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages.

His debut effort when finishing fourth over this distance on the turf was encouraging.

The son of Just  As Well tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and in this line-up, he should be the horse to beat.

Drop Of Time from the Kelly Mitchley stable takes his place in Race 7.

He is better than his last start on the turf track. His local debut effort when fourth over 1000m on this course, was encouraging.

The son of Pomodoro may be at his best on this surface and has dropped to a competitive rating. He jumps from a good draw of four and if jumping on terms, he should be competitive.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h40
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h15
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h50
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h25
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 15h00
