Flawless Feature For Plattner Team

Armitage family happy as paddock value upped

Rondeberg conditioner Andre Nel commendably achieved his goal of securing black-type for the Legislate chestnut So Flawless, when the 4yo ran on best of all to win the R150 000 Listed WSB Sign Up Now Ladies Mile at Kenilworth on Saturday.

Still reeling from the disappointing news earlier this week after his terrific job of getting Sabine Plattner’s Airways Law to the cusp of a Hollywoodbets Durban July run, Nel bounced back like the professional we know him to be, when So Flawless came out firing after a 20 week break to win well.

Under an elated Corne Orffer, So Flawless (16-1) delivered the Pick 6 knockout when finishing with a wet sail to hold off the Snaith challenger Veronica Mars (5-1) by 1,25 lengths in a time of 102,50 secs.

Topweight Rain In Newmarket (7-2) finished powerfully for third, with the winner’s more fancied stablemate Fusillade (7-2) was back in fourth.

Trainer Andre Nel said So Flawless had only been on a break as races were ‘continuously being cancelled’.

“But she likes running fresh, even though I would have preferred a run or two first. She is one of the more unlucky fillies I have had. I am glad we got a Listed race on her cv as I said to breeder James Armitage that I would do my best. To Mrs Plattner and the team, well done!” added Nel.

Leased from breeder James Armitage, So Flawless is a daughter of former SA Horse Of The Year and Durban July winner Legislate (Dynasty) out of the Judpot mare Natural Beauty.

So Flawless has won 4 races with 9 places from 17 starts for stakes of R282 225.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
