The Flamingo Park Raceday, to take place this year on August 6, is the highlight of the Kimberley horseracing calendar.

This year’s event will also mark the one year anniversary of prolific sponsor World Sports Betting’s entry into the horseracing arena.

The day is headed by the R200 000 RA Flamingo Mile and the supporting features are the R135 000 World Sports Betting Sprint over 1000m and the R100 000 RA Diamond Stayers over 2200m.

The races attract the best horses from Kimberley as well as a few raiders from other provinces.

Kimberley’s biggest racing weekend will commence with the Racing Association’s Northern Cape Awards on the Friday night.

Racing AssociationThese awards will honour the sport’s regional stakeholders who have excelled throughout the season.

Furthermore, runners participating in the RA Flamingo Mile will be “auctioned off” with a percentage of the takings being donated to a local charity.

A host of children’s activities will be on offer the following day at the track, so it will be a fantastic day out for the whole family. Fully inclusive hospitality in the Racing Association facility is on offer at R450 per person which includes food and beverage.
