Bipot punters suffered a knockout body blow at Scottsville in the fourth race on Wednesday when unraced horses filled the first two places.
The exotic minimum dividend rocketed from R8 to R111 thanks to an impressive debut win by Sean Tarry’s Last Of A legend who accounted for the relatively unfancied Mr Fitz, a son of Bold Silvano who jumped from the widest of the draw on his 1400m debut.
Over 380 000 Jackpot combinations were in the bin after the opening leg.
The 5-1 Last Of A Legend, a really handsome son of Horse Chestnut, had won his four horse barrier trial on 30 December on the Greyville poly.
This barrier trial could not be traced on the Gold Circle website.
The 44-1 Mr Fitz had run over 7 lengths back on his mostly uninspiring Greyville poly barrier trial on 30 November.

Sometimes it’s a guessing game – well done to the guys who found one of the unraced runners in the Bipot and Jackpot.
We will continue to campaign for more transparency.
