First-Timer Notebook

Greyville 21 Sept

Gold Circle logoThe first instalment of the new transparency initiative introduced by Gold Circle, where trainers are approached for comments on their first-timers, has been released.

PAUL GADSBY:

Race 1 No (6) KILDONAN LAD: He has not shown much and will be in need of this run.

GARTH PULLER:

Race 1 No (8) PATROL MISSION: I would have preferred to have run him up the straight at Scottsville but I need to get going with him. He is quite an excitable horse but has a very nice action. I do believe he will need today’s run but will be okay in the future.

MICHAEL ROBERTS:

Race 1 No (10) THE REFORMATION: Same story as my other first timers. I don’t push them. He will be green and need the run.

STEVEN JANSE VAN RENSBURG:

Race 1 No (11) WANG CHONG: He has shown fair work at home on the grass. This is the first time he will be going on the poly and I am hoping he gives a good account of himself by bringing his home work to the races.
