Fanie’s Richard Aiming For First

First due off @ 12h30

Turffontein plays host to an eight-race programme on the Inside course this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h30 with the lucky last set for 16h35.

Battleground from the Lucky Houdalakis stable takes his place in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the card.

He was running on too late when second over 2850m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since.

He won his only attempt over this course and distance. The son of Futura is the class horse in the race and can go one better.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Fanie Bronkhorst sends out Richard The First in Race 5.

He was running on strongly when third over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time.

He has finished second twice from as many starts on this course.

The son of William Longsword will love the rise to 1450m, and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
